Security through obscurity
"Security through obscurity" means that the aim is to achieve security by keeping secret the security mechanisms in place. This is very questionable, because it’s only a matter of time before the veil of secrecy is pierced and the system then lies open. It’s more advisable to put your trust in particularly good, tried-and-tested security mechanisms.
