One-off passwords
Passwords which can be used only and precisely once. For this purpose, a suitable algorithm is used to create a sequence of passwords which are made known to the user and the destination system by a list or by computation instructions. Every time you log on, the destination system will demand the next password in the sequence. This procedure is primarily familiar from online banking, where what are called TANs are frequently used.
