Verification of checksums

On a unix system You can verify the checksums of the CD as follows:

  • Look at the checksums at the genua webserver.
  • Mount the genucrypt installation CD (e.g. to /cdrom)
  • Generate the checksums of the installation image on the CD, with OpenBSD as follows:
      md5 /cdrom/bsd
      sha1 /cdrom/bsd
      rmd160 /cdrom/bsd

  • Verify checksums: Then compare this received checksum of the installation packages with the checksum on the genua server. If the checksums are equal, the integrity is warranted. If they differ, the support can help You.
